Unreal.ie is 1 year old this month - and your resident admins have been working extra hard to try to make our first birthday that extra bit special.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, the entire site has been redesigned, and we're moving over to the Drupal Open Source CMS Framework.
The forum system has been completely rewritten from the ground up, and sports quite alot of new features - most of which only admins or mods will see, but that doesnt matter because it all rocks anyway
A MAJOR point to note is that your logins WILL NOT WORK on the new site. If you want to access the new site (when the switch is made) you will have to request a new password from the system.
This is a very straight forward thing to do, as you all have valid email addresses in your profile right???
If you need to change your email address to make it valid, POST HERE to let me know you did so. - Any off topic posts will be deleted without comment.
This notice is to make sure that any new users dont thing they've been banned

What?
Drupal - It's a highly customisable CMS system that allows virtually anyone to do virtually anything. It's genuinely amazing, and I've had the pleasure of coding an entire module (don't ask) out of our forum. It's taken this long to get it up to a working point, but it was all worth it.
Why?
The current CMS system (home made) just isn't/wasn't up to scratch. This move will allow admins and users alike to have more flexibility with how the site is maintained.

The very first post on our current forum system is dated 27th January 2005.
We thought it'd be a suitable date to launch the new site, so on the 27th January 2006, you won't be looking at the old site any more ... oh no, you'll have the honour of being the first visitors to the new and improved unreal.ie

This is the home of the Unreal community in Ireland. unreal.ie is entirely owned, built, and run by community members, and our aim is to provide as many services for the unreal community as we feasibly can.
The busiest place here is the forum. Please drop by and say hello. We also hang out at #unreal.ie on quakenet (IRC).

We currently have 6 servers, several of which have a large number of voteable gametypes and maps; we want to give members as much choice as we can, and most map and mutator requests we get in the game server forum are implemented.
